The Shannon County Sheriff's Office has instituted several programs to ensure all of our inmates are eating nutritional food, made with quality ingredients at the lowest possible tax dollar and budgetary strain. The achievement we are most proud of, is the local gardening initiative. Under supervision, Trustees work our local garden, producing fruits and vegetables that keep our budget low. As well as making local deals with local Farmers to purchase local meat. We utilize our Trustees to manage the kitchen, and source trustees who have culinary experience. All of which reduces meal planning expenses. In addition to providing sustenance that this Office can be proud of, all while saving the tax payers money.
