


Shannon County Sex Offender Registry
All convicted and or court ordered sex offeners (SOs) are required by law to register with their county law enforcement agency. There is a specific reporting period, you should be aware of. If you are not aware, we will inform you. You must report information such as your address, your job, your vehicle, your social media, your social events you participate in.
Yes your information will partially be available on line, per state law. You may have other requirements that you are required to participate in. Such as distances from schools, or other locations. These conditions are mandatory. They are not subject to if you want to do them. You are required to be on the sex offender registry (SRO). If you have questions, you may contact the Sheriff's Office and we will guide you in the right direction.

If you are a sex offender, you MUST register.
To make an appointment, call (573) 226 - 3615 Ext. 228 and speak to a staff member about setting up an appointment for sex offender registry. Sex offender registry is only done during standard business hours. Monday & Thursdays, 8:00AM - 4:00PM.

Sex offender registry is conducted on the first floor of the Shannon County Court House, in the Sheriff's patrol office. Ask for Stacy.

Fees
The Shannon County Missouri Sheriffs Office charges fees for sex offender registration. We only accept payment in the form of a money order or cashiers check. The amounts are as follows.
New registration for: SOs who Recently moved to Shannon County, Released from DOC and will reside in Shannon County, or you have a new conviction is $10.00 and will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete.
Modification of your registration for reason such as: New job, new address, new car, new email, new phone number, take approximately 20 minutes and cost $5.00.

Shannon County Sheriff's Office offers 90 day registration, 6 month registration and 1 year registration. These time frames are non-negotiable. If you are late even 1 day, you will be in violation of the law.

Bring your ID
Bring your government issued photo identification. This may include a valid driver's license, identification card, passport. Also, bring proof of changes. Such as a lease for a new apartment, or title for a new car.

Failure to register
If you are mandated by a Judge to register, and you fail to register, you will have a warrant issued for your arrest.
Dear Sex Offender,
Many Offenders have made excuses or simply refused to obey the requirement for registry. We are providing all of the information you need to stay compliant. If you refuse to comply, do not be surprised when we knock on your front door with a warrant. Stay in compliance or go to jail!
