Detention Center Services
Jails are a buzzing place. They are always alive with activities. They say it takes a village and the jail is no different. Detention facilities have many jobs. Transporters, Bailiffs, Booking Officers, Direct supervision Jailers, Pod Officers, cooks, nurses, doctors, mechanics, maintenance employees, laundry cleaners, house keeping staff, administrators and secretaries. The list goes on. Because we desire to give the Inmates not only reasonable care, but allow them to lived with as much quality of life as their circumstances allow. Here is a small look at how we maintain quality of life for your Inmate.
Warnings, Disclaimers, Notices.
* Being in jail does not automatically make a person, a "Bad" person. As such, all Inmates will be treated at all times humanely. Grievances of misconduct by staff towards Inmates will always be investigated and concluded appropriately.
* All arrestees are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
* Inmate property will be stored until such time as the Inmate is released or transferred to another facility.
* Inmate property may be released to a friend or family member, simply by the Inmate signing a property release form.
*Court will be every FIRST & THIRD Tuesday of each month at 9:00AM. Law days that fall on Holidays will be postponed until the following business day.
*Inmate movement routes and times will never be made public for any reason.
* Inmate mail may be sent to The Shannon County MO Sheriff's Office, C/O POD # , Inmate Last name, First name, P.O. Box 880, Eminence, Missouri 65466.
* Inmate mail may not contain nude or suggestive photos, illegal drugs, weapons, tobacco, alcohol, or property of any kind. Letters and blank post cards only. Illegal substances passed into a jail setting is a prosecutable felony.
* All inmate mail is scanned but not read and searched for contraband. The staff does not hold onto mail, and does deliver mail, at mail and med pass in the evening.
* Inmates will receive three meals a day. Breakfast at approximately 6:00AM, Lunch at approximately 12:00PM, Dinner at approximately 6:00PM.
* Medication pass will accompany meals within a hour or less. Night medication pass will be between approximately 9:00PM to 10:00PM. Additional medication times will vary based on emergencies.
* Inmates will bear the financial burden of their medical visits and medications. Inmates will sign a acknowledgment of financial responsibility.
* Inmates needing medical attention may submit a medical request to the Jail Administrator. Emergencies will be dealt with on a case by case basis and transported either via patrol vehicle, or ambulance to the nearest hospital or clinic for evaluation. All medical transports will be accompanied by a Deputy.
* Commissary will be delivered Saturday nights during night time medication pass.
