K-9 Division

K9 TEAM BADGE.jpg

Law Enforcement K-9 programs have been instumental in aiding in the mission of Law Enforcement efforts all over the world. No impact is felt more strongly in the local eradication of drugs and the drug trade, than having patrol K-9 teams. We do have two Drug Detection Dogs on staff currently. They are sworn in as full time working Deputies and are listed as Peace Officers. Each animal as well as their owner have attended and completed a rigorous K-9 drug detection as well as patrol specific training program. These K-9 teams are part of our promise to the Citizens of Shannon County to keep our community safe and drug free.

You will see our K-9 teams out and about on patrol, as well as various functions.

*Feel free to approach and look. But never touch or feed them without the Handlers permission as part of their training.

*None of our K-9 Deputies are now, nor have ever been trained to detect marijuana and are in compliance with state and federal law and guidance.
